Getting Started

Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.

Hello! I’m guessing if you’re visiting this page, you have an interest in earning some extra money online. I’m on this journey myself and aim to relay my experiences to you, to save you time in your search and to share valuable information.

When I started my search, I didn’t know the first thing about earning money online, so consider this my crash course, a gift to you. I’ve found that each type of sites have their pros and cons.

Here are the top ways I’ve found to make money online:

1. User Testing

This may be one of the best ways to make money online that I have found. Basically, these testing sites recruit YOU for various clients to test websites for usability (using either your desktop/laptop computer or various smartphone/tablet devices.)

This will entail recording yourself with a microphone (and for a few sites-with a webcam) while navigating the website and going through tasks given to you through the website, pretty nifty!

Pros and Cons: Probably some of the most decent pay you’ll find (usually through PayPal), but depending on your demographic, you will receive more or less jobs or sometimes not even any at all. For most sites, you will also need to take an audition test, which can take up to a week or so to be approved. I will cover the specific sites in future posts.

2. Survey Sites/Apps

Usually one of the most recommended options because it is easy to start making money ASAP. You will need to enter basic information about yourself and based on demographics, you will qualify for certain surveys regarding a huge variety of typically consumer based topics. I’ve quickly realized that not all of these sites are created equally and it has taken some trial and error to find the best options.

*Offerwalls: Offered on some sites, this is where you can try out apps and reach a certain level or goal and receive credit. There are also offers that involve buying a particular service or item and receiving credit for it.

Pros/Cons: This is a great side money gig for when you have extra time to offer your opinion. The drawback is that these sites can take a LOT of time to stockpile enough money to cash out on. Offerwalls can be fairly quicker to cash out on.

3. Freelancing

Now, this option is venturing a bit outside of the prior two because it is not a structured option. You will need to assess your personal skillset in order to offer services to others. Whether your talent is in art, writing, or programming and developing websites, freelancing is a GREAT option. You can do this through multiple venues, which I will discuss further later.

Pros and Cons: This is really depending on your skillset to get you hired. Jobs can pay very decently, but you may need to offer your skills in order to build up a portfolio and this could take awhile to build.
